@kevinlikesmaps.bsky.social I think in cases like this they use this line as a “disputed territory”, to not have to pick sides… I see the same kind of line used e.g. for Abkhazia/Osetia in Georgia, China/India/Pakistan border, Western Sahara, and even Kosovo
